LG washers are some of the best-engineered machines in the market. LG refrigerators are a different story. Linear compressor failures on the 2014 to 2019 LG French-door lines drove a class-action settlement that we have walked customers through more times than we can count. Here is what we see and how we fix it.
OE is drainage. Check the drain pump filter at the lower-right kickplate first; it solves about a quarter of these calls before a tech needs to come out. If the filter is clear, the drain pump motor, the pressure sensor or a clogged drain hose is your next stop. We carry the drain pump and the sensor.
If the freezer is also warm, the linear compressor is the suspect. Linear compressors can fail with a "no-run" symptom or a "runs but no cooling" symptom. We test the start relay first because that is a $40 fix on a unit that otherwise needs a $900 compressor swap. If the relay is fine and the compressor is dead, we run the math with you because some of those units are still under the extended warranty from the 2020 settlement.
Front-control LG dryers have a thermistor and a heater wiring harness that fail together. We replace both as a kit. The control board on these units is rarely the issue, despite what the LG service tablet sometimes says.
